Understanding Technical Documents

Identify the manufacturer, product name, code and grade before reviewing a document. A document for a different product or grade should not be used as the specification for the selected option.

Technical data sheets describe the material. Safety data sheets provide safety information. Compare their product identity and revision details with the material being offered.

The certificate of analysis must relate to the offered batch. Confirm the batch reference with the supplier and request the documents relevant to the selected manufacturer and product code.
